The Itinerary
Day 1 | Ulaanbaatar City
Welcome to Mongolia-the Country of Eternal Blue Sky and land of Nomads. Upon your arrival at Chinggis Khaan Airport, Laguna Stella's team will be waiting for you. We will take you to your hotel centrally located in downtown Ulaanbaatar. Enjoy some walking chill-out (depending on your arrival timing) to Sukhbaatar Square and Monument of Chinggis Khaan.
Day 2 | Ikh Gazriin Chuluu
After breakfast at the hotel, we leave for Ikh Gazriin chuluu, an exotic rocky formation in the upper northern part of Mongolian Gobi desert. There you will enjoy the scenery in the evening and overnight at local Tour Camp. Dinner is served at the camp.
Day 3 | Departure to Baga Gazriin Chuluu (Biking Day)
Our departure to Baga Gazriin chuluu as our first cycling starts. The road is rocky and semi-steppe where you can observe stunning Gobi scenery and cycle up to your will ranging between 40-60 km. Baga Gazriin Chuluu is also an interesting location with rocky formations of granites stones. Overnight stay in tent camps with out-door cooking.
Day 4 | Khustai National Park
Home to Wild horses. The driving would take some 3-4 hours with spectacular view of Mongolian grasslands in Khangai-Steppe region of Bulgan Province. On the way to Bayangobi camp and Elsentasarkhai sand dunes, we also visit Khustai National Park where you can see Przewalski's horses and visit local museum of the National Park. By late afternoon, we reach our touring camp nearby sand dunes. Enjoy your dinner and stay overnight in Mongolian ger.
Day 5 | Khugnu Khan National Park (Biking Day)
Feel the natural silence and take the smell of herbals out there. After breakfast, we drive out of the city and head to the west. The driving would take some 3 hours with spectacular view of Mongolian grassland. The Khugnu Khan National Park is very famous among travelers and locals for its natural formations and sand dune. There you can really feel the undoubted silence of nature land take wider breath while cycling through the grasslands. Enjoy your dinner and stay overnight in your Mongolian yurt, the "Ger Camp".
Day 6 | Khugnu Khan Cycling (Biking Day)
The terrain today is far different than the previous days. The area of Khugnu Khan National Park is more dominated by steppe and hills. The cycling will take 3-4 hours while exploring Erdene Khamba Khiid and Uvgun Temple in the National Park. In the evening we will return to our base camp and overnight.
Day 7 | Khangain Mount Range and Tsenkher
Our transit to the Khangai Mountain range takes over 3 hours of driving until we reach Tsenkher hot spring, rich in minerals and relaxation. Tsenkher Hot Spring is the second hottest spring of Mongolia after Shargaljuut spring. Heat of the water reaches 86 celsius degree. It is an alkaline spring that contains hydrosulfuric acid and silica union and used for medical treatment. Tsenkher Hot Spring is good for treating rheumatism, neuralgia, muscular pain and arthalgia and help improving digestive system, restoring immunity after surgery and recharging yourself.
Day 8 | Tsenkher and Orkhon Valley (Biking Day)
The terrain shifts into more lush grassy valleys and higher mountain ranges, which is actually foothills of Khangai Mountain. The cycling ranges between 40-60 km until we reach a local nomadic family. There we meet the family and experience their way of living. We will take a traditional Mongolian yurt and spend the night with Mongolian meal.
Day 9 | Erdene Zuu and Karakorum
Departure to Khangai-Kheer (steppe and mountain region) Excursion to Erdene Zuu Monastery and the ruins of Karakorum, capital of Mongol Empire, the largest contiguous empire in history. Enclosed by a quadrilateral of imposing walls surmounted by 108 white Tibetan chortens, it was one of the greatest centers of Lamaist Buddhist thought outside of Tibet. Erected in 16th century, the most ancient of the Mongolian monasteries housed inside the city walls one hundred temples that were largely destroyed in the 1930s. Few buildings are survivors of this destruction, however within them some of the highest ones are preserved masterpieces of the Lamaist art. You can attend the Buddhist ceremony of Lamaist monks in the main Erdene Zuu monastery. Continuation and visit of the ruins of Karakorum.
Day 10 | Ulaanbaatar and Leisure time
Today, we drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Today is for your leisure time in the city.
Day 11 | Ulaanbaatar discovery
Today we will visit Gandan Monastery and National History Museum. After that, we also visit Mongolian State Department store and Gobi/Goyo Cashmere. Mongolian is well known for its fine and quality cashmere products. In the evening we will attend to Tumen Ekh Folklore Concert which famous for its wide variety of dance and singing performances as blessings to your journey. We will have a farewell dinner at one of Mongolia's prestigious restaurant.
Day 12 | Departure
Your driver and Trip Leader/Guide will take you to the Airport for your departure.
